Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Legionella Personal s.r.o. handles personal information in connection with the website at focusnetwork.online. It is written under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, because the site is published for readers in Australia. It describes what this site actually does, which is very little, and it does not describe collection that does not happen here.

1. Who is responsible for your personal information

Legionella Personal s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic and publishes this site from there. Section 11 covers the additional rights that apply because of that.

2. What is collected

There are three categories, and the list is complete.

Nothing collected through the site itself: This website has no forms, no input fields, no newsletter, no account, no quiz and no chat widget. There is nothing on any page for you to submit, so the site itself collects no personal information from you. It also sets no cookies, uses no local storage or session storage, runs no analytics, loads no advertising or conversion tags, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from any third party. Ordinary server logs kept by the hosting provider: Like any web server, the server that delivers these pages records a line for each request. Those lines contain the IP address making the request, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the response status and a timestamp. An IP address can be personal information in some circumstances, so it is treated as such here.
What you choose to send by email: If you write to info@focusnetwork.online, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever else you put in the message. You decide what that contains, and you are not required to write to us at all.

3. Why each category is held, and on what basis

Server logs exist so the site can be kept online and secure: diagnosing faults, identifying abusive traffic, and confirming that pages are being served correctly. They are not used to build a profile of any reader, are not analysed for audience measurement, and are not combined with anything else. Under the Australian Privacy Principles this is collection reasonably necessary for the operation of the site.

Email correspondence is held so we can answer you, and for as long as answering and any follow-up requires. If you write about a correction to a page, the message is used to make the correction and for no other purpose. We do not add correspondents to any list, because there is no list.

4. How long each category is kept

Server logs: retained for up to 30 days and then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course of the hosting provider's operation. Where a specific log entry forms part of an investigation into abuse or a security incident, that entry may be retained for up to 12 months from the date of the incident.
Email correspondence: retained for up to 24 months from the date of the last message in the exchange, then deleted. Correspondence that has to be kept longer to comply with a legal obligation is kept only for as long as that obligation runs.

5. Who the information is disclosed to

The only third party involved in the operation of this site is the hosting provider that operates the server delivering these pages and the mail service that carries email sent to the address above. Their access is incidental to providing those services.

No personal information is sold, rented, exchanged or disclosed for advertising. No advertising network, analytics provider, content delivery network or font provider receives anything, because this site does not contact any of them.

Cross-border disclosure (Australian Privacy Principle 8). Legionella Personal s.r.o. is located in the Czech Republic, and the hosting and mail infrastructure used to operate this site is located outside Australia. If you are in Australia, your personal information — the server log entries generated by your visit, and any email you send us — is therefore disclosed to and accessible by recipients outside Australia, principally within the European Union. By reading this section you are informed of that before any such disclosure occurs.

6. How the information is protected

The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the server is encrypted. Access to server logs and to the email account is limited to the people at Legionella Personal s.r.o. who need it to operate the site, and is protected by unique credentials and multi-factor authentication. Because the site holds no accounts, no payment details and no reader database, there is very little to protect and correspondingly little to lose.

7. Your rights of access and correction

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected if it is wrong. Write to info@focusnetwork.online. We will respond within 30 days. In practice the only information we are likely to hold about an individual reader is an email exchange, and we may not be able to identify you within server logs from an IP address alone; where we cannot, we will say so rather than guess.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy request or a complaint, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the Australian privacy regulator, at oaic.gov.au. We ask that you raise it with us first, because most issues are resolved faster that way.

8. Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose personal information we hold, we will assess it promptly and notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

9. Children

This site is not directed at children, is not designed to appeal to people under 16, and collects no information from them, because it collects no information from anyone through its pages. Guidance for parents and carers about the games this site describes is in the family guidance entry.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new effective date at the top, and the previous version ceases to apply from that date. Any change that would introduce collection of personal information — a form, an analytics tool, a cookie — will be published here before that collection begins, not afterwards.

11. European Union and United Kingdom rights

Because Legionella Personal s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to its processing, and the equivalent United Kingdom regime applies to readers in the United Kingdom.

Legal basis. The processing described in this policy relies on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f): keeping the website available and secure, and responding to correspondence that the sender chose to initiate. There is no consent basis, because this site sets no cookies and runs no tracking of any kind, so there is nothing to consent to. There is no processing for marketing, profiling or automated decision-making.

Your rights. You may request access to your personal data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability where it applies, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Requests go to info@focusnetwork.online.

Supervisory authority. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For Legionella Personal s.r.o. that is the Office for Personal Data Protection in the Czech Republic (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), uoou.gov.cz, or with the authority in the country where you live.
